INSTALLATION:
• You need WinRAR to extract the rar's files.
• You need a virtual drive to mount or burn the ISO file
• Install Authorized Steinway Basic.
• Cancel the serial authorization.
• Install the crack.
• Run the Steinway Sample Manager.
• Install the library.

I followed the instructions, but it says that my copy is not activated and to download an activation keycard.
uninstall it.. start over.. AFTER you read the directions dum bass.. it works
How install the libbrary? i open steinway sample manager but this not find nothing for install.
That's a valid question that's not covered in the instructions.
The BASIC folder that the sample installer is looking for is on the CD image. But if you choose it from the image, it won't accept it.
I copied the BASIC folder to my VST folder. Then I pointed the Sample Manager to that folder.
Still not sure if it's going to work (I actually didn't do step 1 yet - seeing if the ARIA is really necessary). Hoping to just host the VST via Reaper.

Okay. Here's how I got it to work without the 15 minute time-out.
1. UN-RAR files.
2. Mount BIN
3. Install as usual.
4. Move crack (on BIN) to install directory (maybe unnecessary but good practice).
5. Run crack.
6. Copy BASIC folder from BIN to hard drive.
7. Run STEINWAY SAMPLE MANAGER.
8. Select "INSTALL" from drop-down and choose BASIC folder you dragged from BIN.
9. Now load the Steinway application. You'll be warned it's unauthorized. It will time-out after 15 minutes. The crack image in the install directory doesn't seem to work. Shit.

11. Run ARIA player. Drag crack .png (located in ARIA install folder) onto window every time you load to activate.
12. Now you can load Steinway through ARIA player. I do this via Bank 1. I click on the small left/right arrows you see in every light grey rectangle on the player and somehow it pulls up BASIC which contains the Steinway samples.
It's ugly. But it sounds good. Not quite as good as Kontakt's The Giant but that had a massive bug that would lock up my system. This is good enough to buy for $50 but not for the crazy prices all these companies seem to want for their virtual instruments.
